cheif instructor lee did a mammoth
50 x 2 minute rounds
( with a 30 second break between rounds)
of sponsored sparring for the
EDWARD BRIGHT APPEAL.
Edward Bright is 7 years old. He was suddenly taken ill on Sunday 11th February 2007
and was rushed to hospital. The illness was later confirmed as the rare and serious Y-strain meningitis. Edward was initially not expected to survive, but he has proved an incredibly tough character
and his survival chances are now excellent.
The illness has claimed both his legs and both his arms below the elbow, together with serious damage to
a large proportion of his skin. He is currently in Birmingham Children’s Hospital where he is receiving excellent care,
but he has a long and difficult road ahead to recovery and a reasonable quality of life.
EDWARD AND HIS FAMILY WILL NEED A HUGE AMOUNT OF HELP AND SUPPORT FOR MANY YEARS to give Edward a reasonable
quality of life. Neither of his parents have been able to attend their work since he was taken ill, as he needs at least one
of them with him 24/7 at Hospital
LEE WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE THAT TURNED UP TO SHOW THIER SUPPORT, IN THIS
MAMMOTH TASK, AND TO EVERYONE WHO JOINED IN WITH THE SPARRING.
